Deputy Pat Buckley asked the Minister for Education and Youth the date when entrants and students undertaking the montessori teaching course at a college (details supplied) were informed that route 4 would no longer be available to them for securing teaching council registration; if she is aware that four graduates of this course are unable to register permanently with the Teaching Council despite beginning their studies before recognition of the course was withdrawn at the end of 2023; and if an accommodation will be made for these students given the urgent national need for teachers and in view of the fact that no further graduates will come from this course due to the college’s closure.
