76 Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the impact the introduction of water charges could have on families in which a family member has a particular health condition that requires more frequent than average bathing, such as severe eczema; and if before reaching a decision on the introduction of water charges, he will undertake to review the possible impact of pay by use charges on such families and invite submissions from the public on the way such families or families in similar situations should be treated under this tax.
