Deputy Thomas Pringle asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will ensure that any land used for planting of any forestry stays in the hands of Coillte or the individual farmers and stop international investors from buying up large areas of land for plantation; and if he will ensure that the majority of trees planted are native tree species and that a full and independent, environmental assessment would be carried out before any non-native species are planted.
