Broughan asked the Minister for Health if he will ensure that funding is made available for children who have a profound hearing impairment to receive the double cochlear implant procedure which is standard in other EU states, including the NHS in the UK, particularly in view of the fact that there are around 350 children waiting for the procedure and at present can only receive a single implant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
