Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Education and Youth if she is aware of the significant delays in a school's (details supplied) electrical installation emergency works, which was approved by her Department on 15 July 2025 but stalled as a result of ongoing delays within the Emergency Works section; if she will investigate and clarify the reasons for these delays, especially given the critical nature of the works and the implications for the school's ongoing insurance cover given that the provider's required completion date for works has passed; if she will acknowledge the urgent nature of the works and resolve to identify and address the delays as a matter of priority; to provide a commencement date for the essential emergency works so that the health, safety and operational stability of the school can be safeguarded; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
