Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his Department, or a body under its aegis, has undertaken any analysis of the direct benefits of the special VAT rate reduction on encouraging overseas and domestic tourism, as opposed to other factors such as the positive euro exchange rate; and if so, if he will provide estimates for the number of additional overseas visitors which his Department considers were a direct consequence of the reduced VAT rate.
