Deputy Mary Mitchell O'Connor asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the reason the Geological Survey of Ireland recently published a tender for public relations services with a requirement for tenderers to demonstrate a turnover of a minimum of €200,000 per annum for each of the previous three years by way of audited accounts or similar when most small and medium-sized enterprises and sole traders cannot meet this stipulation and when it is counter to the Government’s expressed policy of encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
