83 Deputy Willie Penrose asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that 364,000 fewer passengers travelled through Dublin Airport which represents a 15% drop in numbers when compared to the figure in August 2008; his views on whether the imposition of the €10 tourist tax has contributed to this reduction in the numbers travelling; if his further attention has been drawn to the fact that other European countries have all abolished tourist taxes or reduced airport charges, in order to stimulate tourism; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
