Deputy Tony McLoughlin asked the Minister for Health if his Department or the Health Service Executive provide any financial supports for families who have to travel long distances to hospitals with children who require specialist cancer treatment for a long-term illness over and above the normal social protection payments; and if supports are available to parents who have travel, subsistence and accommodation costs because of the requirement to attend such professional facilities.
