Deputy Andrew Doyle asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 361 of 11 December 2012, if he will confirm that dog pounds, rescues and shelters will be subject to the provisions of the Animal Health and Welfare Bill; if he intends to undertake co-operative action with the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government which is only responsible for the control of these animals to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained in all establishments that keep dogs and horses.
