Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Health his response to the national survey of stroke survivors recently published by the Irish Heart Foundation which indicated that one third of stroke survivors have no access to physiotherapy, half cannot get any speech and language therapy or occupational therapy and just one in ten can get any psychological help; that more than one in three pay for their own rehabilitation; and that 60% are made financially worse off by their stroke; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
