Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Finance further to the changes introduced in the Finance Act which have resulted in the loss of tax credits and tax band allowances for single parents, the steps, if any, he is taking to review the impact of these measures on the parents affected and to assess whether or not they are proportionate; and if he will commit as part of any review to consider the introduction of a system that bases the credit on proven maintenance payments in respect of the children concerned.
