100 Deputy Simon Harris asked the Minister for Finance if he finds it acceptable that €5 million worth of Coast Guard Service equipment currently lies unused at a storage facility for a period of two years and that warranties are being paid on this unused equipment by the Office of Public Works; and if he will instruct the OPW to immediately engage with all relevant stakeholders in ensuring the provision of a much needed and long overdue Coast Guard Service facility where this equipment can be used (details supplied).
