PQ 896

896. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he is aware that a prison administration and support officer III with two increments and over three years' public service, has been informed that were they to cross over and become a prison officer they would have to start at the entry grade for a prison officer, their current service in the public sector apparently having no bearing on their entry pay scale; if he will provide clarity as to whether it is the case that previous and current service in the public sector is not transferable for pay grade purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
