63 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the steps he is taking to re-open the export for slaughter of live cattle to Lebanon; the discussions he has entered into with the French authorities to have lairage facilities made available for live cattle in transit from Ireland; if countries like Spain, France, Italy and other European Union countries want Irish store cattle; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the French authorities may be bidding for our market share of live cattle, particularly in Spain and Italy; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
