Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if, in relation to the recent public disclosure that the remains of several hundred children are located at the site of the former Bon Secours institution in Tuam, County Galway, An Garda Síochána has initiated an immediate investigation; if the site has been isolated as a crime scene; if forensic examinations are under way; the assistance the Government can provide in terms of identifying each set of remains, tracing relatives, and providing for proper burial; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
