Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a fund exists which allocates moneys to schools in order to carry out minor refurbishment works, redecoration and or renovations to interior school classrooms and indoor facilities in order to meet the needs of students that suffer from respiratory diseases and or conditions whereby breathing may be negatively impacted by environmental factors such as carpets and other textiles; if so, the way in which a school may formally apply for funding in such circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
