Broughan asked the Minister for Health the actions that will be taken by his Department in conjunction with the Health Service Executive to ensure that the recommendations of the report issued in April 2008 following the review completed by the diabetes expert advisory group can be implemented in practice, in particular the recommendation to have one nurse specialist per 100 children or adolescents with diabetes; and to improve on the current ratio of one nurse specialist to 250 children or adolescents with diabetes.
