Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of civilian personnel currently employed by the Garda; the number it is proposed to recruit; the units to which they are or will be deployed, in tabular form; if statutory instrument 109/1990 will need to be amended to allow the deployment to other units of personnel currently employed in specialist units that will be freed up as a consequence of the employment of civilian personnel; if the statutory instrument is to be amended, when this will be done; the issues that will be considered; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
