Deputy John Deasy asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that more than 900 children are on the waiting list for three years in Crumlin children’s hospital to be seen, diagnosed and treated for juvenile arthritis; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that the World Health Organization recommends a country of Ireland’s population should have a minimum of six paediatric rheumatologists with a treatment waiting time of no more than six weeks; and the steps being taken to ensure more timely treatment is provided in these cases.
