Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if his Department monitors advertisements for the sale of puppies on websites such as a website (details supplied) or other advertising websites to check that dog and puppy vendors are licensed as a registered breeding establishment or that the puppies offered for sale are from a licensed registered breeding establishment; if his Department has received reports in the past two years of unlicensed breeders or vendors offering puppies for sale; if so, the number of such reports; the number of inspections; and the number of prosecutions carried out by inspectors of his Department or other inspectors since 1 January 2019 of unlicensed breeders or vendors who are offering puppies for sale.
