Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence if his Department has considered engaging with the Irish fishing industry to examine whether some of those who have recently been forced to leave the industry, due to reduced fishing quotas, could be deployed to fulfil roles in the Naval Service on a supporting civilian basis, similar to other jurisdictions and naval services.
