Allow citizens to carry pepper-sprays, and use it ONLY IN SELF DEFENCE.

United Kingdom · UK Parliament · 4 October 2025

It’s time to let UK citizens protect themselves! Every day, innocent people especially women walk the streets feeling unsafe. Allowing pepper spray for self-defence would give us a non-lethal, responsible way to deter attackers, and save lives. We deserve the right to feel safe within the law! Citizens of the UK deserve the right to protect themselves safely. Pepper spray is a non-lethal tool used worldwide to stop attackers and prevent violence. Current laws leave many, especially women, defenceless. We need sensible regulation, not prohibition. Sign this petition to support legal, responsible self-defence with pepper spray — for safety, freedom, and peace of mind!

Make it an offence to carry a catapult in public without lawful defence

United Kingdom · UK Parliament · 29 September 2025

Change the law so catapult possession in public is an offence. Currently, police must prove intent or use to cause harm. We propose it becomes an absolute offence, like air rifles, without lawful defence. Rising attacks on people, animals, and wildlife show stronger powers are needed. Catapults are increasingly linked to assaults, criminal damage, and rising wildlife attacks. Making public possession an absolute offence like air rifles with age checks, and a licensing scheme for legitimate uses like angling, would give police stronger powers.

Make it legal to carry regulated non-lethal self-defence products.

United Kingdom · UK Parliament · 27 September 2025

We believe threat of violent crime can make many feel unsafe. We ask Parliament to review weapons laws and allow adults to buy, possess and use regulated non-lethal self-defence items. The framework should cover product approval, licensed retailers, safe-use guidance and heavy penalties for misuse. 1. Review laws on non-lethal self-defence products and their classification. 2. Approve products that meet safety and effectiveness standards. 3. License sales so approved items are available only through accredited suppliers with safety information. 4. Provide guidance and training on safe, lawful use. 5. Impose strong penalties for misuse or criminal use. A regulated system would protect the public while allowing adults safe, legal options for personal defence.

Issue earned medals to Armed Forces Veterans automatically without need to apply

United Kingdom · UK Parliament · 19 September 2025

Currently, serving armed forces personnel are issued earned medals automatically, without having to apply. Veterans first need to know they are eligible, then need apply, in hard copy. The automatic issuing of medals should be extended to all eligible personnel, both serving and veterans. We believe veterans deserve equal recognition and equal treatment to serving personnel, yet many must apply in writing for medals they’ve already earned. We think this unfairly creates barriers, especially as some veterans don’t even know they’re eligible and that automatic issue ensures dignity, consistency, and justice for their service. This could ensure there is no overlooked recognition, and that the sacrifices of veterans are honoured without bureaucracy, and closes the gap between veterans and those still in uniform.

Diabetes should not prevent someone serving in the British armed forces

United Kingdom · UK Parliament · 17 September 2025

Diabetics should be able to join the military due to the modern technological advances that occur everyday. Managing the condition is second nature to most diabetics therefore I believe it should not be considered a risk as those who are insulin dependent know how to handle it and live with it.
