That this House deplores the recent murder of the British defence attache in Greece, Brigadier Stephen Saunders, by the November 17 Terrorist Group; extends its condolences to his family and commends them for their courage in the face of this family tragedy; notes the high degree of co-operation between the Greek and British Governments, police and other authorities after the crime, including the high level seminar in Athens on ways of combating terrorism; and welcomes the recommendations from the seminar for joint participation in counter-terrorism exercises, technological enhancement and closer co-operation on counter terrorism issues, which it trusts will be speedily adopted by both governments.
