That this House congratulates Mohamed El Baradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency on winning the Nobel Peace Prize; agrees with his statement during his acceptance speech that the world should work to make nuclear weapons as universally condemned as slavery or genocide; and calls upon the United Kingdom Government to further that aim by meeting its responsibilities under Article VI of the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons to advance quickly towards a Treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control.
