Summary
That this House warmly congratulates YMCA North Tyneside on winning the North East Charity Social Enterprise of the Year and being awarded freedom of the borough by North Tyneside Council; notes that YMCA North Tyneside provides valuable support to some of the most vulnerable young people through its supported housing and that half of those vulnerable young people are thereby enabled to begin their own tenancies and jobs; further notes the vital role played by its social enterprise café and training kitchen, supported by North Tyneside Council; recognises that its youth offer includes an international exchange programme, a Leaders for Life programme and an after-school club that provides high-quality and creative activities in a safe environment while allowing parents to study or work; recognises that its new 65-place day nursery offers high-quality and affordable child care; and wishes all concerned the very best for their continuing endeavours in the run-up to the organisation's 140th anniversary in June 2019.
