Summary
That this House supports the excellent proposal by the Western Morning News to establish a National Post Office Day, to promote the benefits of a comprehensive network of post offices in villages, towns and cities across the United Kingdom, and to give the opportunity for people to show their support and affection for the Post Office network by using their local post office that day; and calls on the Government to endorse the proposal, and for honourable Members of all parties to follow the Liberal Democrat lead by pledging to work on the counter at a local post office in their constituency to experience for themselves the hard work of post masters and post mistresses and the vital role of the Post Office, especially for the elderly and those in isolated rural areas.
