Summary

That this House welcomes the resumption of the Cyprus proximity talks which aim at preparing the ground for meaningful and substantive negotiations leading to a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problems on the basis of relevant United Nations resolutions; foresees the prospect of a bright and prosperous future for all Cypriots in an independent, federal, sovereign and territorially integral Cyprus, with basic human rights guaranteed for all, in full membership of the European Union; and welcomes the new spirit of rapprochement between Greece and Turkey and expects that this will have a positive effect on Cyprus, leading to a comprehensive settlement.
