To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of the upkeep of the Camp Hill prison site on the Isle of Wight since its closure.

Answer
The estimated cost to the public purse of the upkeep of the former prison since its closure for the period 2013/14 to 2018/19 is £1.19m. The department will continue to work with the council and others on the future of the site.
