In our view, many alternative forms of ID aren’t widely accepted, creating barriers for accessing essential services. We think a national ID card would offer a reliable solution, helping everyone, especially those who face challenges with current identification methods, to engage fully in society. We think people should be able to choose to acquire a National ID card, it should not be mandatory.
