Summary
We call on the UK Government to keep the full 2-year Graduate Route (3 years for PhDs), dependant rights for taught postgraduates, and consult student communities before future changes that could impact international education and mobility. We think the changes proposed in the immigration white paper would affect international students unfairly, harming the UK’s global reputation and competitiveness. We think post-study work and family rights are key factors in choosing where to study. We think not implementing the proposals in the immigration white paper would support inclusivity, education exports, and the UK’s relationship with key partner nations.
