Summary
Exempt all existing TIER 1 high-skilled visa holders and their replacement visa types (including Global Talent, Investor, Innovator Founder, Entrepreneur), and their dependents from the 10-year ILR rule. Preserve 3 and 5-year ILR and 12-month citizenship timelines Include grandfathering protections. Keep attracting top talent to settle and grow the UK economy. We are concerned that breaking promises to industry leaders who trusted the UK could trigger a catastrophic brain drain of top talent to rival nations. A Home Office survey of 4,025 Global Talent visa holders (published 28 March 2024) showed the top motivators were visa flexibility (66%) and the chance to settle (63%). Two-thirds surveyed planned to apply for ILR under the 3- and 5-year rules. We urge the Government to honour its commitment to fast-track ILR and citizenship for the brightest and best talent driving UK high growth.
