Summary
Ban the use of driver-facing cameras in HGVs and company vehicles. We think these cameras invade drivers’ privacy, breach data protection principles, and harm mental health without clear safety benefits. Only road-facing or external cameras should be allowed. Driver-facing cameras can create stress and distract attention from the road. We believe constant monitoring can harm mental health and reduce safety instead of improving it. We think these systems breach data protection standards and lack clear evidence of effectiveness.
