Summary
If the majority votes “no”, then the UK Government should cancel the deal and instead, work with Mauritius to ensure security in the Indian Ocean without transferring the islands. We believe native Chagossians should also be included in discussions in regard to being relocated to the islands in a way where military base operations are not impacted. We call for a national vote on the deal.
