Summary
We believe that many pet owners face huge & unsustainable rises in their monthly pet insurance on renewal far above inflation & income growth with limited transparency or ability to switch providers due to even minor pre-existing conditions leaving many effectively locked into their current insurer. We call for a review to investigate price increases and pricing structure, to ensure there is clearer transparency on how renewal prices are set, review rules on pre-existing conditions (such as simple conversations at your vet) and their impact on switching, ensure long-term customers are not unfairly penalised compared to new customers, enable safer switching between providers without losing cover for investigated but undiagnosed conditions and assess the wider impact these prices have on pet welfare and pressure on rescues.
