Summary
Introduce legislation requiring people seeking asylum to claim protection in the first safe country they reach after leaving their home country. Individuals who travel through multiple safe countries without claiming asylum should not normally be eligible to claim asylum in the UK. Why do you want this? I believe these changes would strengthen border security, improve public confidence in the immigration system, and ensure that the UK’s asylum system focuses on those most in need of protection while improving public safety for the British citizens.
