Fund specialised regional task forces to tackle bike & motorcycle theft

Summary

We believe motorcycle owners across the country are targeted and endangered everyday by organised gangs of thieves. We call on the Government to fund dedicated regional task forces to manage a coordinated approach in tackling bike & motorcycle thieves and keeping all road users safe. We feel there needs to be a coordinated approach to tackling thefts and bike jackings. Thieves can not only cost bikers millions in damage and loss every year; they can also put them at risk of injury and death. Despite convictions of bike and motorcycle thieves, thefts and bike jackings continue on a daily basis. We call on the Government to fund the establishment of specialised and dedicated regional task forces to tackle this.
