Summary

This petition calls on the UK Government to introduce legislation requiring social media platforms to take effective action against creators who use rage bait or exploit controversy for profit. We believe stronger accountability is needed to help protect users. We have witnessed harmful content across social media. Despite repeatedly reporting it through the appropriate channels, little or no meaningful action has been taken. We believe the UK Government should introduce stronger legislation to hold online creators and social media platforms accountable when harmful content is repeatedly used for profit. We believe creators who use rage bait to generate views, engagement, and financial gain encourage harassment and misinformation.
