Summary
The UK music industry has generated £8 billion in yearly revenue to the UK economy. We are concerned AI-generated music is threating the livelihoods of professionals in Britain’s music sector, we call on the Government to ban generative AI music software to protect British jobs. An estimated 2.4 million people work in Britain’s thriving creative sector. We are concerned that new technologies threaten to entirely wipe out British recording studios, British songwriters, British session musicians, British recording engineers, British artists and British record companies. We believe this disruptive technology should not be allowed to infiltrate our industries and threaten livelihoods. We call on the Government to ban generative AI music software to protect British jobs.
