HAMDT 201 (101st)

An amendment to express the sense of the Congress that the President should press for the dismantling of the Soviet Union's ground based anti-satellite weapons and to seek a treaty with the Soviet Union to place the strictest possible limitations on ASAT weapons. The amendment specifies that any agreement should include provisions for mutual verification and also calls on the President to submit a report by May 1990 on U.S. ASAT weapon activities and on the survivability of U.S. satellites against Soviet ASAT weapons.
