An amendment comprised of two amendments offered en bloc to require the Interior Department to report to Congress annually on the percentage of hardrock mining claims held by foreign firms; to provide that funds appropriated under the bill may be expended only if the party expending the funds agrees to comply with the Buy American Act; to express the sense of Congress that assistance provided under the bill should be used only to purchase American-made equipment and products, and require that recipients of assistance receive a notice describing this sense of Congress; and, finally to prohibit the use of funds provided under the bill to contract with any entity which has been found to have made fraudulent use of a "Made in America" label or description.
