HAMDT 458 (101st)

An amendment to replace the provisions of the bill regarding El Salvador. The amendment would allow the President to determine whether or not specified actions by the Salvadoran government have occurred which would warrant restricting U.S. military aid. If such a determination is made, the President would be required to withhold up to 25% of the 1991 military aid. The amendment would allow the termination of all U.S. military assistance if the President determines that other actions by the Salvadoran government or military have occurred.
