HAMDT 492 (103rd)
An amendment to require recipients of funds under the bill to adopt a policy of prohibiting smoking in schools, except in areas where children are not present and that are separately ventilated. Enforcement of this provision would be by civil penalty, with a fine of up to $1,000 per violation. This provision would not be enforced, however, by withholding funds under the bill.
