HAMDT 714 (101st)

An amendment to place a permanent ceiling of 30,000 on U.S. troops in Korea to be achieved over the next three years by FY 1993. This amendment would require the withdrawal of an additional 6,000 Army troops over the same 3-year period. Under the amendment, the troop ceiling could be waived in the event of an armed attack by North Korea or a presidentially-declared emergency.
