Summary
Constitutional Amendment - Sets forth procedures providing for an election for the office of President and the office of Vice President in the case of a vacancy in both the office of President and the office of Vice President. Provides that in case of removal, death, resignation, or inability of both of the President and Vice President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives or, in the case of a vacancy in the office of speaker, such other officer as the Congress may declare, shall act as President until the disability be removed, or a President shall be elected. Provides that in cases where there are two years or more remaining in the then current Presidential term, each State shall appoint, in such manner as the legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors for President and vice President equal to the number of Senators and Representatives to which the State is entitled in the Congress.
