Summary

Financial Disclosure Act - Requires candidates for Federal office, Members of the Congress, and officers and employees of the United States compensated at or above the GS-16 rate or pay grade 0-7 (in the case of members of the uniformed service) to file annual reports containing a full and complete statement of: (1) the amount and source of each item of income or gift in excess of $500; (2) each asset which has a value in excess of $5,000; (3) any securities transactions in excess of $1,000; (4) all transactions in commodities in excess of $1,000; and (5) any purchase or sale of real property involving in excess of $5,000. Provides criminal penalties for any person willfully failing to file a report required by this Act. Authorizes such reports to be available for inspection by members of the public.
