Summary
Congressional Salary Act of 1987 - Amends the Federal Salary Act of 1967 to make the recommendations of the President relating to congressional salaries of an advisory nature. Amends the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 to declare the rate of pay for Members of Congress to be that which is payable for such positions on the date of enactment of this Act. Requires increases in such rate of pay to take effect at the beginning of the following Congress. Declares the period which begins on the Tuesday following the first Monday of November of even-numbered years and which ends on the following January 3 as occurring during the first session of the following Congress.
