To establish requirements for the cancellation of automobile insurance policies.

Summary

Prohibits States from authorizing the sale of automobile insurance unless it is subject to cancellation in accordance with the cancellation requirements of this Act. Allows cancellation only if: (1) written cancellation notice is given at least 180 days before the cancellation; (2) the named insured's driver's license was suspended or revoked; or (3) the named insured has been convicted of, or forfeited bail for, any action connected with operating a motor vehicle that is grounds for license suspension or revocation. Mandates notice of nonrenewal at least 180 days before the expiration of the policy. Provides for enforcement.
