Summary

Provides that whoever is armed with a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, in addition to the punishment provided for such crime, shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment for not less than one year nor more than ten years. Requires that a person convicted a second or subsequent time of committing such a crime shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment for not less than 25 years. Direct that such sentences shall not be suspended nor shall any court give a probationary sentence nor shall the term of imprisonment run concurrently with any other term of imprisonment. (Adds 18 U.S.C. 2401, 2402)
