Summary

Firearms Industry Responsibility Enforcement Act - Authorizes anyone damaged by the discharge of a firearm that had been in interstate commerce to bring a civil action in U.S. district court: (1) against the firearm manufacturer, distributor, or retailer who was negligent in its manufacture, distribution, or sale; and (2) on behalf of the State and the political subdivision thereof in which such individual resides to recover medical and law enforcement costs arising out of such discharge (in which case the damages shall be paid to the State or political subdivision).
